The Motoko is a bold, oversized aviator-squared hybrid designed to challenge conventional eyewear silhouettes. It mimics the wide field of vision typical of athletic masks but executes the design using premium, hand-finished acetate and exposed metallic components for a "high-tech retro" aesthetic.
Technical Craftsmanship & Material Details
Hand-Milled Italian Acetate: Unlike injected sports masks, the Motoko is sculpted from high-quality cellulose acetate. This allows for a much more substantial, textured feel and allows the brand to play with complex lamination and beveled edges.
Laminated Temple Bonding: A Portrait signature, the temples feature multi-colored acetate bonding. Different layers are fused together to create a contrast that is visible from the side, adding to the frame's structural and visual complexity.
Hammered Metal Components: The frame features visible, hammered stainless steel and titanium inserts. These industrial accents provide structural reinforcement and serve as a tactical visual detail that reinforces the cyberpunk theme.
Iridescent Lens Technology: Often paired with green-silver mirror lenses, the sun version provides an iridescent, "digital" finish that protects the eyes while maintaining the futuristic mask aesthetic.
